Meet the Lujan Family
Lujan Family – Refuge Church, Lovington, NM
Pastors Samuel & Haeley Lujan
Shaylee (15) • Blake (11) • Kaydence (9)
A New Beginning
After years of serving in support roles, Samuel and Haeley never imagined God would call them to be lead pastors. When Network leadership asked them to pray for Lovington’s next pastor, they didn’t realize they were praying for themselves!
Through prayer, fasting, and wise counsel, they recognized God’s perfect timing. As they sought a new name for the church, the Lord revealed Refuge—a place of safety and healing.
Powerful Testimonies
Celebrating testimonies is central to Refuge’s culture. To mark their six-month anniversary, the church celebrated with a testimony service—and soon after, the Lujans had a testimony of their own.
Their daughter Kaydence faced the possibility of hip surgery. But they prayed. The church prayed and God miraculously healed her. Watching that healing unfold reminded them once again that God is our Healer.
Mentorship Matters
The Lujans are deeply grateful for the mentors God has placed in their lives—some met through NetCon, others lead churches in the area, and some from previous seasons of ministry. These relationships have reinforced that isolation is detrimental, and community is essential.
We may feel ordinary, but we’ve said “yes” to an extraordinary call.

Called Camp 2025 Was Incredible!
Students from New Mexico developed their call to ministry through breakouts and hands-on workshops—like sermon writing, kids’ ministry lessons, and spiritual gift assessments—they left equipped to do ministry now!
We’re also thrilled to launch the Called Collective, where students called to full-time ministry—selected by their youth pastors—will join six weeks of intentional mentorship calls with leaders from across the nation.
Huge thanks to every leader and church that is investing in this next generation. Discipling them isn’t optional—it’s essential!
